Monologue book

Calling all female and those who identify as female writers and/or actors who want to create some new monologues for auditions. My hope is to create a book filled with interesting, truly modern and meaty monologues that women can use for auditions, competitions, course work, or just to read.

What I'm looking for is a wide range of voices - age, race, sexuality, etc. However, this is only for women (whether biologically born that way or how you personally identify, it doesn't matter as long as you know you are a woman). It will be a book for women, by women.

Please note that the monologue(s) submitted do not need to be based on true events, they just need to be your original work. Also, you may submit as many monologues as you like, just keep on filling out the form.

Once completed, the book will go on sale on Amazon Kindle and from the F Creations website. It is my intention to donate a percentage of the profits from these sales to charity.

A bit more information about the project

*This project was born out of my personal frustration at trying to find interesting monologues for auditions. It always felt like, as a woman, I was restricted to short pieces from movies if I wanted something new or repeating the same old, tired pieces that have been done 1000 times before.

*Who am I? My name is Faeron Wheeler and I'm the founder of F Creations - a production company aimed at creating new work and promoting a safe space for artistic collaboration. Since starting in 2017, F Creations has been responsible for bringing 2 brand-new plays to life. I've also collaborated with individuals and companies to bring established works to South African stages. Personally, I work as a producer, writer, director and actor for theatre and film. In 2019, I co-wrote and performed in Your Perfect Life, for which our team won a Standard Bank Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival.

*All work that is chosen to become part of this book will be fully credited to the author, and the author will retain the rights to their intellectual property. This means that you can choose to remove your monologue(s) from the book at any point (although I hope you won't) and you can share your monologue(s) with anyone you want. Please note that you will not have the right to give away the entire book, not without the express consent of the team.

*The team will be made up of all those who have contributed monologue(s) to the book. We will all own a percentage of the book and therefore, will all have a say in how the book is distributed. As the editor and publisher, I will have the deciding vote if need be.

*No writers will receive payment for their monologue(s) before the book becomes available. Instead, we will work on a profit share basis, with the exact percentage split being confirmed with each team member before the book hits the shelves (metaphorically speaking). The exact percentage that each team member receives will be based on the number of contributors and the amount contributed by each. This will be worked out once the content of the book is finalised but before the book is made available to purchase. Contracts will be created between each team member and F Creations as the publisher.

*A percentage of the profits will be donated to charity. At the moment, I would like to donate the profits to the Theatre Benevolent Fund: http://tbfsa.co.za/ However, I am open to suggestions for other worthy charities in South Africa that are related to the performing arts.
